Guitar has minimal weather checking and a couple dings and a couple finish cracks (finish only). The back has some belt rash, however wouldn't show up in photos. The guitar is all original and shows minimal fret wear. The top three frets show wear on the B & E strings, however don't need to be replaced. It sounds great with it's original P-90 pickup and will make an excellent addition to your collection or as a player. Serial # 31720 is visible on the back of the head stock. The case looks almost unused and is a Gibson Deluxe, not the usual brown with pink case you usually see. Dean's Liquidation Estate SalesMade in Kalamazoo, Michigan, this ES140T has a laminated maple body, mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard. This ES-140T is a extremely cool little Gibson and is a surprisingly great sounding guitar. The small 3/4 size ES-140T archtop was offered through much of the 1950's, described by Gibson as perfect for students, "ladies" or guitarists desiring a compact hollow archtop. Starting in 1956 the guitar was changed to a less than 2" deep thin-line body format, making for an even handier package. This fine example has a few nicks and finish cracking overall and is in completely original condition.Looking deceptively almost like a toy ES-175, the ES-140T is in fact a fully professional quality instrument with a great-feeling round profile neck, 9/16" nut, single P-90 pickup, dark sunburst finish and simple trim. With a very small body cavity the tone is a quite a bit brighter and snappier than the typical ES-175 and other full-depth hollow bodies. This early 1961 ES-140T still looks identical to the 1950's versions except for the impressed serial number on the back of the headstock. This guitar is simply well preserved, plays beautifully and has an amazingly big smooth tone for such a small instrument. Overall length is 37" (94 cm.), 12-3/4" (32.4 cm) wide at lower bout, and 1-7/8" (4.8 cm.) in depth, measured at side of rim. Scale length is 22-3/4"(578 mm). Width of nut is 1 9/16"(41 mm.). This guitar is in beautiful, all original condition showing very little wear overall. There are some small nicks into the finish on the headstock face, other than that, just light handling wear overall. Includes the rare 1960's Black and Yellow-lined Hard Shell Case.
